Every family has their flaws and benefits, and the Younger family from A Raisin in the Sun is no different. A marriage hanging on a piece of thread, siblings constantly bickering at each other, and a grandmother wanting to control everybody, the Younger family has certainly been through a lot. But with naturally born hard workers and dreamers like Walter and Beneatha, the family somehow manages to get by. My family is not perfect either. A controlling mother, constant bickering between my sister and I, and a marriage that could use a bit of sharpening up, my family has it’s similarities with the Younger family. However with all these things, my family still keeps fighting and improving like the Youngers. No family is exactly the same†¦show more content†¦This causes Mama to feel like the family is falling apart because of these new ideas. As a result, Mama smacks Beneatha for her disbelief in God and hesitates to even look at Walters plan to open a liquor store. This situation reflects in my family as well, especially between my mother and me. On almost everything, my mother and I take polar ideas on the issue. On the issue of God, I am an Atheist but my mother is a devout catholic on a quest to convert her son back to Catholicism. On social issues like marijuana, my mother wants it illegal so it doesn’t ruin the lives of American children, but I want it legal and for her to take it and relax a bit with her outrageous assumptions. In the arena of politics, my mom is a good ol’ conservative who believes the Government has no right in her business, even though she believes government should tell women what to do with their fetuses. I on the other hand, am a progressive skeptical liberal who believes we as a nation need to wake up an realize that we need people checking on us to make sure we are fact checked and assured that we have equal opportunity to improve our lives. Another example of the generation battles happening in A Ra isin in the Sun is when Beneatha takes guitar lessons as a form of â€Å"expressing herself† This confuses Mama to the point where she laughs at her daughter’s strange idea of having a guitar express who she is. Africa has many issues going on, but the one issue in specific that I am going to talk about is the poverty and health of Somalia, and the whole of Africa. Somalia is the poorest country in the world and they have a very weak health system. Africa is also not doing very well economically. Africa is the poorest Continent in the world. Every single one of the top ten poorest countries is in Africa. First, off I am going to talk about the health system. Here are some quick facts about the health of the people in Africa. The first fact, the average life expectancy is just 51 years. The highest life expectancy rate in Africa is 76.31. The lowest life expectancy in Africa is 49.07 . That is why other countries are trying to help out Africa. Some of the major diseases in Africa are Malaria. Other countries like the United States are helping people in Africa protect from mosquitoes that carry the disease. This parasite can get into your body through bad water. A freshwater snail leaves the larvae in the water, then people drink it and the larvae get into their body and so on. An additional reason Africa has such poor health is because they suffer from drought and famine. A reason that they have famine is because they the delivery of food is often restricted by fighting among competing tribes/clans. A revolution, as defined by the Oxford English dictionary, Is the overthrow of an established government or social order by those previously subject to It. Although, the colonists did overthrow the British monarch, there was not enough change In American society for it to be a revolution. After the colonists won the war with Britain, they created their own form of government. A foundation and basis for the newly formed government was the Articles of Confederation, which was largely influence room the British government.These articles temporarily provided the Americans with law and order, before they wrote the Constitution. The American Revolution caused change politically, in the government, and socially, particularly toward women and slaves, but did not have significantly change America. The Declaration of Independence was an Important influence on the Americans when they were planning a new government. In the letter, Banker thanks Jefferson for his willingness to help their cause (Banker 2). He repeatedly talks about the position that Jefferson is in. He also shows his respect by always calling Thomas Jefferson sir. At the end of his letter he writes mires most obedient humble servant (Banker 3).In Jefferson letter back to Banker he writes that everyone must see that everyone is equal regardless of the color of their skin. At the end of Jefferson letter he also ends with the same ending as Banker did. The American Revolution helped the colonists separate and distinguishes themselves from others. During this time period, the colonists founded a new country and a new government. They gained independence and overthrew their previous leaders. Though the revolution caused change in America, it lacked significant change to be called a complete revolution.

RMS Titanic was a passenger liner that sank in the North Atlantic Ocean on 15 April 1912 after colliding with an iceberg during her maiden voyage from Southampton to New York City. The sinking of Titanic caused the deaths of 1,514 people in history. She was the largest ship afloat at the time of her maiden voyage. One of three liners operated by the White Star Line, she was built between 1909-11 by the Harland and Wolff Shipyard in Belfast. Her passengers included some of the wealthiest people in the world, as well as over a thousand emigrants from Britain,  Ireland,  Scandinavia  and elsewhere seeking a new life in North America. The ship was designed to be the last word in comfort and luxury, with an on-board gymnasium, swimming pool, libraries, high-class restaurants and opulent cabins. Just before 2:20  am  Titanic  broke up and sank bow-first with over a thousand people still on board. Those in the water died within minutes from  hypothermia  caused by immersion in the freezing ocean. The 710 survivors were taken aboard from the lifeboats by the  RMS Carpathia  a few hours later. The disaster was greeted with worldwide shock and outrage at the huge loss of life and the regulatory and operational failures that had led to it. Many of the survivors lost all of their money and possessions and were left destitute; many families, particularly those of crew members from Southampton, lost their primary bread-winners. They were helped by an outpouring of public sympathy and charitable donations. Some of the male survivors, notably the White Star Lines chairman,  J.Bruce Ismay, were accused of cowardice for leaving the ship while people were still on board, and they faced social ostracism. The  wreck of the  Titanic  remains on the seabed, gradually disintegrating at a depth of 12,415 feet (3,784  m). Since its rediscovery in 1985, thousands of artifacts have been recovered from the sea bed and put on display at museums around the world.
